Welcome to RetroFret! Welcome to RetroFret!

After 34 years in our singular Gowanus location, Retrofret will be moving—but not to worry, we're not moving too far! Our new home will be just a short distance away in the lovely Carroll Gardens area, just off the Gowanus Expressway. The 100 year old building is itself as unique as our inventory, and has been part of small industry in Brooklyn since its construction. It has been home to a bottle factory, electric motor repair shop, and most recently a design & production company.

Retrofret looks forward to continuing the tradition of small industry in this beautiful neighborhood and maintaining our position as a staple in the local community. Located nearby are Folksbier Brauerei, Black Gold Records, Almost Ready Records, and the wonderful Jalopy Theater & School of Music.

Since our humble beginnings as a repair shop, we've continued to grow in both local renown and as a top name in the worldwide vintage guitar market. With a unique and highly curated museum-quality inventory, we set ourselves apart early on as a top destination for collectors, musicians, and historians from a wide variety of musical backgrounds. This growth has finally led us to the point where we need more space for our inventory and booming repair shop—a place we can fully inhabit to our highest potential.
