Mike Ramsey 5 String Banjo, made in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, serial # 1857, shaded maple finish, laminated maple rim, laminated flame maple neck with ebony fingerboard, tweed hard shell case. Item # 5579
This is an extremely fancy custom-grade Mike Ramsey banjo, with high-grade Vega style inlay. With 5 geared Planet tuners, a Fairbanks Electric/Whyte Laydie style time ring and a frailing scoop to the fingerboard this is an exceptionally fine modern old-time and frailing banjo, set up and ready to go.
Overall length is 36 3/4 in. (93.3 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter head, and 2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.). Appears all original with only very light signs of wear or use except some very minor plating wear. Excellent + Condition.
