Gibson LG-1 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1952), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # Z-1228-6 (FON), sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, hard shell case.

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 3/8 in. (36.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 3/8 in. (11.1 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This is a very well-preserved and nicely original guitar, with just some light wear and minor repair. The dark sunburst top and natural body finish are still shiny with only light checking. The tuners are correct Kluson-style modern repros, the saddle is a new bone piece, and a vintage Gibson-style strap button has been added to the heel.

One grain crack to the back has been cleanly repaired with no touch up. There is some minor finish wear, mostly to the top with small dings and scrapes and the lower edge of the soundhole is worn away somewhat. The bridge has been lowered slightly; this is an excellent player with a loud, bright tone.

This guitar also has the internal cabling and endpin jack for a soundhole pickup already installed, and would make an excellent gigging or recording guitar -- a perfect choice to amplify for stage use. Includes a nice modern fabric-covered HSC. Overall Excellent Condition.
