"Star" Guyatone GT-70 Solid Body Electric Guitar, most likely made by Teisco, c. 1959Just Arrived!
"Star" Guyatone GT-70 Model Solid Body Electric Guitar, most likely made by Teisco, c. 1959, Japan, serial # 1830.
A very rare and super-interesting early Japanese-made solidbody, as sold in the UK circa 1960. A big chunky neck set-in (not bolt on) neck, two great-sounding pickups and a light handy body with a sensible and versatile switching system make this a surprisingly good guitar. A great garage band classic! Overall length is 38 7/8 in. (98.7 cm.), 11 1/2 in. (29.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.). Practically time capsule condition-only very light wear, all original still with a full set of vintage flatwound strings and the original UK-issue violin style case. More playable than many would expect and a very cool piece of early electric guitar history-both in the UK and Japan. Excellent + Condition.
