Gibson J-45 Flat Top Acoustic Guitar , c. 1946Just Arrived!A very clean and fine example!
Gibson J-45 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1946, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. Overall length is 40 1/2 in. (102.9 cm.), 16 1/8 in. (41 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 7/8 in. (632 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Very nicely original guitar; some general play wear but no major cracks or repairs. The most serious finish wear is on the south edge of the soundhole; some pickwear below the pickguard; there are dings and checks over most of the guitar but overall the finish is in better shape than many old Gibson flat tops. Big chunky neck with truss rod, slimmer than the wartime "baseball bats" but not by much! A great-feeling guitar with a big punchy sound. Generally Excellent Condition.
