Fender Precision Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1977), made in Fullerton, California, serial # S758952, natural polyester finish, ash body, maple neck, original black tolex hard shell case.

This Fender Precision Bass is a typical late '70s example with a natural ash body, black pickguard and one-piece maple neck. That neck is built with the very slim 1 1/2" nut width usually reserved for the Jazz bass but inexplicably also encountered on some Precisions from this decade. The serial number decal on the headstock dates to mid-1977 and the pots are from the 41st week of 1976. It is complete including the case, covers and some paperwork and has been played but not abused over the past 44 years. This ash-bodied bass has a substantial feel at 10.9 Lbs (with the covers on) but is a very smooth player and a nice period survivor.

Overall length is 45 7/8 in. (116.5 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

This is a very clean all-original bass, complete and unaltered showing just some minor wear and tear. The back (and neckplate, especially) have some belt-buckle scratching, there is some scuffing to the pickguard and minor wear to the chrome. There are no repairs or alterations except the frets look to have been possibly crowned down a bit flatter than stock some time ago. This is a very nice player, set up with black nylon strings and the foam mute still intact giving it a vintage almost fretless character. The original Fender case is very nice as well, with the original hang tag, inventory tag and polish cloth still in the pocket. Excellent + Condition.
