Gibson Les Paul Custom LPB-7 Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (2002), Nashville, TN.

Overall length is 39 3/8 in. (100 cm.), 13 in. (33 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 in. (5.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.)., 9.3 lbs.

This is a little-used 20-year-old example of one of Gibson's nicer long-serving re-issues, the "1957 style Black Beauty" Les Paul Custom LPB-7. This model is a Gibson custom/art/historic re-issue of a TWO-PICKUP 1957-style Custom, an instrument that barely existed originally as three PAF's was the stock compliment. For most players the twin pickup setup is more functional, and generally preferred.

Other than that variable this is a very close reproduction of the 1957 original, with a solid multi-bound mahogany body and neck capped with a bound, pearl block inlaid ebony fingerboard. This one has a quite chunky feeling neck with a substantial if fairly flat "C" profile. It is equipped with vintage-correct style hardware except for the Grover Rotomatic style tuners, which would be correct for a '59 re-issue; The correct Kluson "waffleback" tuners had not yet been re-issued when it was made in 2002.

The guitar has been pro refretted with tall but not too broad wire but shows hardly any actual play wear. One or two solder joints in the control cavity appear redone, but all components remain original. The neck pickup cover has a small dent and a couple of other marks; overall the gold plating is very little worn. This is one of the nicest playing and sounding modern Les Pauls we have had in a while, a super classy guitar as it has always been and a real pleasure to play. It includes the original black "Gibson custom" HSC with case candy including a set of hang tags and COA. Excellent + Condition.
