Gretsch G6128T-GH George Harrison Signature Duo Jet Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2016), made in Japan, serial # JT16082823, Gloss Urethane finish, mahogany body with laminated maple top, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original tweed hard shell case.

This re-issue George Harrison Signature Duo Jet celebrates George's early Beat era legacy, closely modeled on the instrument that the guitarist often referred to as his "first real decent guitar".

This gleaming black Duo Jet re-creates the distinctive appointments and minor modifications of Harrison's original 1957 model, which he purchased secondhand from a Liverpool sailor in the early 1960s for 70 pounds-a fortune for the young player at the time. It is built on a lightweight mid-'50s-style chambered mahogany body with a maple cap. The back and sides are finished in black as well as the top, a little-known modification to Harrison's original only noted when it was spec'd out for Gretsch to re-issue. Other unique specs pulled from Harrison's original are the Bigsby tailpiece with a black Phillips head tremolo arm bolt and an offset strap button on lower bout, moved from the centerline when the vibrato was added.

Other more typical features include three-ply body binding, single-ply white neck and headstock binding and a 12"-radius 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid Hump Block inlay. The sonics are provided by two single-coil DynaSonic pickups, with individual volume controls, a master tone and a master volume on the cutaway bout. The strings ride over a vintage-style "rocking bar" bridge saddle on a rosewood base. Other hardware includes a silver-backed clear pickguard, Gretsch G-arrow control knobs and chrome-plated re-issue Grover Sta-Tite tuners. George Harrison's signature appears on the truss rod cover and the guitar lives in a premium tweed hardshell case. This is a very well-done re-creation, and a great sounding and handy modern Gretsch for any player, Beatle smitten or not!

Overall length is 40 in. (101.6 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.).

This is a very clean guitar with some very light handling wear but looking not much played since new. It appears to have most of the time since 2016 sitting in the clean original case, waing to "Please please" somebody! Excellent + Condition.
