Artec RSV3 Resovibe Owned and Used by Tom Verlaine Vibrato Effect, c. 2010s
Artec RSV3 Resovibe Owned and Used by Tom Verlaine Model Vibrato Effect, c. 2010s, made in China, grey enamel finish, aluminum.
The Artec Resovibe is an all-analog vibrato/tremolo effect based around an optical circuit. There are three modes: Vibe for a classic and more straightforward vibrato sound, and then a high or low option for the optical sensor to control the overal noise and intensity of the LFO. The rest of the controls are what one might expect: a knob for speed, a knob for intensity of the LFO (in addition to the high/low sensitivity toggle), and range for overall depth of the wave.
This particular Resovibe spent its life as a stage and studio utility of Tom Verlaine, frontman and guitarist of the legendary New York City rock band Television.
Height is 4 3/4 in. (12.1 cm.), 3 1/2 in. (8.9 cm.) width, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth at deepest point.
This pedal is in functional original condition with minimal traces of use by Mr. Verlaine but for the patch of velcro on the back; according to Mr. Verlaine's musical collaborators from whom we received this pedal, this was occasionally used on Tom's stage pedalboard, explaining the velcro. All the knobs, switches and jacks, and the graphics are in shiny, like-new condition. In candor, this is not a particularly hi-fi pedal and does make a bit of extra hum when engaged. It can be run off a 9V battery or wall wart power supply. This pedal resides in its original box with some original documents from Artec, and it also comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Patrick Derivaz, Verlaine's close friend and long time musical collaborator from whom we received the pedal. Excellent + Condition.
