Gretsch Country Gentleman G6122T-AM Model Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2017), made in Japan, serial # JT17041145, natural finish, laminated maple body and neck, ebony fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

The Gretsch G6122TFM Players Edition Country Gentleman is a very nice 2017 Terada-made version of one of the company's most revered 1960s classics, the PX-6122 Country Gentleman. While the originals were always finished (as per Chet's spec) in a dark walnut brown, this version sports a striking natural finish look spotlighting some lovely flame maple on the top and back. It is generally faithful to the original with some minor changes, but most features are close repros of the 1963 spec. The Gotoh tuners are not authentic style but overall this is a nice representation of the original.

Classic features include a laminated maple body, dual High Sensitive Filter'Tron humbucking pickups and the newer Gretsch 'ML" bracing that is specifically voiced for the thinner body. The company claims this design produces distinct tone by synchronizing the top and back vibrations for harmonious tone without clashing overtones.

The controls are bridge and neck pickup volume controls, three-way pickup switching, no-load master tone and a master volume. The special Gretsch 'Squeezebox" paper-in-oil caps add smooth vintage tone while a treble bleed circuit retains clarity when rolling the volume control down. Another modern upgrade is a String-Thru Bigsby, eliminating the pins that have annoyed generations of players when re-stringing. This is a great-playing and fine-sounding re-issue of this Beatle-approved 1960s Gretsch, sporting a different look but still a timeless classic in stand-out hollowbody 6-string.

Overall length is 43 1/4 in. (109.9 cm.), 17 in. (43.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 3/16 in. (5.6 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar appears really very little played, practically with just some extremely minor wear to the gold plating. It plays very nicely and resides in the original case with a big envelope full of Gretsch paperwork. Excellent + Condition.
