C. F. Martin D-28P Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1989), made in Nazareth, PA, serial # 475949, natural lacquer finish, rosewood back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original molded blue plastic hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 15 3/4 in. (40 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 15/16 in. (12.5 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This 35-year old D-28P has seen some use but overall has survived well, although at some point it did belong to a hearty strummer! The "P" suffix designates the "Performing Artist" neck, a bit sleeker than the older standard design. This guitar's all original finish is mostly relatively clean but there is an area of deep strum wear to the wood on the top along treble side of fingerboard extension, with some pick marks above it. The rest of the guitar has just some small dings and dents, with one touched up mark on the upper edge of the back.

Thera are no cracks to the instrument or repairs except standard maintenance work; The bridge appears to have been reglued and very slightly lowered; the original saddle slot was previously plugged and a more accurately angled compensated saddle added. The original frets show some wear but still play fine. The original braces and rosewood bridgeplate are all intact with an under saddle pickup installed wired to an endpin jack. The original pickguard and
tuners are intact and functional.

This guitar appears to have been played only seated as the endpin jack fitted has no room for a strap attachment and there is no forward strap button. Apart from this oddity this is a good 'gigging' D-28, ready to go and already worn enough that some further road wear will only add to its character! It plays very nicely and resides in the classic molded plastic Martin HSC. Excellent Condition.
