Guild F-212XL Model 12 String Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1990s), made in Westerly, RI, serial # FJ100808, natural lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; laminated mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

This super jumbo 12-string Guild F-212XL was built in the early 1990s, but remains generally similar to earlier models. The F-212XL was introduced in 1966, the same basic instrument as the familiar mahogany F-212 but with a larger 17" body. These are some of the best-sounding 12-strings Guild made, with extra depth and power compared to their smaller relatives but retaining the transparency of a mahogany body. This guitar appears little used fairly extensively and remains in very good playing condition, with a marvelous sound.

Overall length is 44 1/4 in. (112.4 cm.), 16 7/8 in. (42.9 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 7/8 in. (12.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 1 13/16 in. (46 mm.).

This guitar remains all original showing some light wear overall with a few small dings, scuffs and dents. The bridge has been reglued and there is a tight grain split repair running to the soundhole rim along the treble side of the fretboard extension. There are no other cracks or repairs visible, and the original frets show virtually no wear. This "XL" sized 12-string is a big beast to handle but has quite a sound, and can really roar when pushed. It resides in the original Guild-branded case with the 1990s Guild care booklet and a good quality strap. Excellent - Condition.
