Gibson LG-0 Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (1966), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 424958, natural lacquer finish, mahogany body, top and neck, rosewood fingerboard, original black chipboard case.
This is a typical example of Gibson's least expensive flat top from the 1960's, the LG-0. This model was designed for economy and easy playability with all mahogany construction, a tortoise celluloid bound solid top with ladder bracing and the eccentric plastic bridge. The tortoise celluloid pickguard is screwed to top. About as simple as a Gibson gets, but still a great playing little guitar.
Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Appears all original (including the inexpensive Japanese tuners Gibson used around this time) and in excellent playing condition. There is checking to the finish overall and some dings and scrapes to the back and headstock but overall a good gigging example. Excellent - Condition.
