Gibson EH-100 Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1937), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 1318-9, black lacquer finish, maple body, rosewood fingerboard, original black hard shell case.

Overall length is 31 7/8 in. (81 cm.), 8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) deep. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.).

A nice example of the first version of the lower-priced 1930s Gibson lap steel, all original with some light average wear. There are scuffs to the back, a scrape on the headstock face through the "G" in the Gibson logo, and a few deep nicks to the top, but overall the finish remains in good shape. The only alteration is someone carefully carved the letter "V" into the top of the volume knob, to remind them which knob was which long ago!

This steel sounds great with the full-magnet version of the early "Charlie Christian" style pickup, and comes complete with its original HSC. Excellent - Condition.
