Fender Deluxe 5E3 Model Tube Amplifier (1957), made in Fullerton, California, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 15 1/2 in. (39.4 cm.), 19 13/16 in. (50.3 cm.) width, and 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm.) deep.

This is a great-sounding and generally well-preserved "golden era" Deluxe, with some wear and general maintenance but no major alteration except for a Weber blue Alnico speaker replacing the original Jensen. The tube chart date code stamp is GE, indicating assembly in May 1957. The tweed covering is decently preserved overall, with wear to the edges and corners mostly. The handle is newer as well. The faceplate shows some typical light corrosion but all stenciled graphics are still strong.

Internally there is some typical cap work and a 3-prong grounded cord has been added. It retains the original Triad power transformer and Triad output transformer, and the circuit has not been modified. The amp is set up with some nice NOS tubes, and the Weber speaker preserves the original sonic character of the original Jensen with a bit more headroom. This "Golden age" Deluxe sounds great just like it should and still looks sharp; the epitome of worn-in tweed cool. Very Good + Condition.
