Fender Champ-Amp 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1960), made in Fullerton, California, serial # C-15039, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 12 in. (30.5 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width, and 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep.

This is a nicely preserved later model tweed Fender Champ from 1960, never abused, just maintenanced and sounding fantastic. Recent service included adding a grounded three-prong cable and replacing the filter caps and coupling caps; the original parts are included. In addition the bias was checked and jacks, pots, and tube sockets checked and cleaned. No circuit changes have been made. It has a tube-chart stamp "JK" dating to November 1960 and retains the original transformers dated to 1959 and 1960.

Externally the tweed is solid and fairly clean with some typical scuffing and light edge/corner wear, some staining towards the bottom and one repaired tear on the lower back panel. The original leather handle is fully intact. The faceplate shows only very minor corrosion with the graphics still crisp and clear. The original Oxford speaker (dated the 37th week of 1960) sounds great with a relatively quick build up to a fully saturated tone compared to a more modern unit. This is yet another great-sounding tweed Champ, even livelier than some...a perennial favorite amp, small in size but a monster in tone! Overall Excellent Condition.
