Duesenberg Fairytale Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (2021), made in Hannover, Germany, serial # 210333, Goldburst finish, Korina body, aluminum fretboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

This elaborate and imposing lap steel is the creation of Germany's Duesenberg company, who build traditional styled modern electrics in their own Hannover factory. This dedicated slide guitar is very advanced design, non-traditional in some ways with features more akin to a Spanish-style electric than the vintage lap steels of the 1930s-'50s.

The Fairytale is built around a fairly large Korina body and neck unit with a long 25 1/2" scale black anodized aluminum fingerboard. Unlike most steels it is equipped with two pickups, a "Grand Vintage" humbucker at the bridge and a "Single Twin Domino P-90" single-coil at the center position, allowing for a wioder-0than-usual range of sound. The controls are mounted for easy access on the lower bout, with a short-throw tone pot that easily enables smooth tone swells with a twist of the pinky.

There is a palm pedal "Multibender" bridge system installed that allows smooth hand-operated pitch shifts on two strings; it is currently set up to produce an instant I/IV chord change. The stepped headstock is fitted with Duesenberg Z-Tuners and a roller nut, with an integrated easy-shift capo for instant lightning-fast key changes. This system can be expanded up to five levers, with additional levers available separately. This is a beautifully made and finished instrument that is one of the most versatile steels ever designed, capable of a very wide range of sounds and styles.

Overall length is 37 in. (94 cm.), 7 5/8 in. (19.4 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 25 1/2 in. (648 mm.). Width of nut is 2 7/16 in. (62 mm.).

This guitar looks hardly used, showing only a few handling marks and no real wear. It sounds fabulous and comes in the original hard case with paperwork including the warranty card and spec sheet. Near Mint Condition.
