Fender Champ-Amp 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1960), made in Fullerton, California, tweed fabric covering finish.

Height is 12 in. (30.5 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width, and 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep.

This is a somewhat worn nice later model tweed Fender Champ from 1960, just maintenanced and sounding great. Recent service included adding a grounded 3-prong plug, a full cap job and re-biasing to spec. No circuit changes have been made. It has a tube-chart stamp "JD" dating to April 1960 and retains the original transformers coded 606-007 and 606-009. The amp is set up with an older "Custom built for Fender" stamped CTS-made speaker recently re-coned by Weber.

Externally the tweed is solid; somewhat dirty, but not heavily worn and with a nice amber tint. The original leather handle is worn but intact. The faceplate shows only minor corrosion with the graphics still crisp and clear. The re-coned speaker allows a bit more headroom at fully saturated output than a 60-year old cone generally would and this is yet another great-sounding tweed Champ, a perennial favorite amp -- small in size but a monster in tone! Excellent - Condition.
