Overall this is a nicely preserved example of the all-time classic recording bass amp, Ampeg's B-15N. From its inception until today, this model has been the preferred in-house bass amplifier for the great majority of professional studios. We see a decent number of period B-15s, but most have seen decades of use and often show heavier wear and/or modifications. This one is relatively clean and mostly original. Internally, the amp is unmodified, save for some typical maintenance including standard cap work and an added 3-prong grounded power cord. The only major alteration is a Fender-branded square magnet 15" speaker, presumably from the late 60's/70's, which is not unlike the original square magnet CTS speaker that came stock in many of these.

Externally, there is a set of casters installed on the bottom (by their appearance, a long time ago!) that are heavy duty and work very well. There is scuffing to the tops of the transformers and tube cage from decades of the amp being flipped and stowed in the cabinet. There is some light wear to the signature blue check Tolex with some minor tears on corners and edges, most notably on the bottom. The original Ampeg logo from the upper front of the cabinet is unfortunately long gone, but a faithful reproduction can be installed upon request. Otherwise this amp is in great shape and sounds truly fabulous. The speaker packs a nice even punch, with no boominess or rattles, even at higher volumes. This is a lovely example overall; a true classic amp and perennial studio staple. Overall Excellent - Condition.
