Rickenbacker S-100 Model Lap Steel Electric Guitar (1954), made in Los Angeles, California, Fleckstone finish, hardwood body, original grey/green hard shell case.

Overall length is 29 1/4 in. (74.3 cm.), 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm.) width, and 1 1/4 in. (3.2 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22 1/2 in. (572 mm.). Width of nut is 2 1/4 in. (57 mm.). Very nice overall-there is some typical wear to the painted finish on the edges and the headstock decal is flaking somewhat. This space-age looking steel remains all original and in fine playing shape; the plastic tuner buttons show some typical shrinkage but are still functional. As is virtually ubiquitous with this design, the two rear corners have chipped off the Bakelite bridge/saddle unit , but this does not affect playing. This guitar was sold in the 1950's as a student model but is a very light and handy steel with the famous Rickenbacker pickup giving a fantastic sound. This one includes the optional deluxe rectangular hard case, lined in red plush and covered in the typical pre-1960's green/grey covering Excellent Condition.
