Continental Model Soprano Ukulele, most likely made by Harmony, c. 1930, made in Chicago, brown stain finish, birch body, laminated pioplar neck with ebonized fingerboard, blue gig bag case.
Overall length is 20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm.), 6 3/4 in. (17.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 2 1/4 in. (5.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 12 7/8 in. (327 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/8 in. (35 mm.).
This is a decent grade early depression-era uke, marked on the back of the headstock with the logo of Continental Music Co. one of the larger jobbers of the time. It is made of birch stained to resemble mahogany, with a 3-piece laminated poplar neck, ebonized fingerboard and black binding on the body. There are some repaired cracks top and back and light general wear but overall this is a nice if lower-end uke for being about 90 years old. It plays and sounds very well and comes in a minimal but functional modern gig bag. Overall Very Good + Condition.
