Gibson ES-335 DOT Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1988), made in Nashville, TN, serial # 83178565, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 3/8 in. (105.1 cm.), 15 15/16 in. (40.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This now almost 35 year old guitar has been played just a bit but very well-cared for, showing only a little wear overall. The lovely ambered natural finish shows only the most minor dings, scuffs, dents and scrapes, with some light "buckling" into the lacquer on the back. The nickel plating has very minor corrosion, most noticeable on the pickup covers. It is all original except the original bridge has been replaced with the same Gibson piece in chrome; it has heavier playing wear on the ends and one adjustment screw is missing but it can easily be re-installed if desired.

This ES-335 DOT model is one of Gibson's best 1980s instruments, a really nice re-issue of the original 1958-9 ES-335 with a few more modern touches (most notable the Grover Rotomatic tuners many of the originals had added in the 70s). This blonde one has the classic look of the most desired original variant and carries a cool Dave Edmunds vibe, if you're old enough to remember! It plays and sounds great for just about any style. The original case is intact except the locking latch is broken, probably on purpose as they have an annoying habit of locking themselves. Overall Excellent + Condition.
