Gibson ES-335 DOT Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2005), made in Memphis, Tennessee, serial # 03385724, black lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 3/8 in. (105.1 cm.), 15 15/16 in. (40.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar is a product of Gibson's sadly closed Memphis factory, which specialized in excellent versions of these classic ES-series models. This ebony beauty appears to have been only lightly played over the last 18 years, remaining all original except for the strap buttons and very well-cared for. It shows very little wear to the finish, just some tiny dings, scuffs, and scrapes with some faint buckle marks on the back. The nickel plating is still shiny with very little wear or corrosion.

The tuners are Grover Rotomatics, otherwise the hardware is an accurate reproduction of the original 1959 style, including Gibson's PAF repros from this period. This is a very striking looking guitar in this relatively rare black finish and feels nicely broken-in with nearly two decades (ouch -- now we feel old!) under its belt already. An excellent player with a slightly chunkier version of the fairly slim, flat profile 1960-style neck and original frets still in excellent shape. Includes the black Tolex HSC. Overall Excellent + Condition.
