Gibson ES-335 DOT Model Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar (1989), made in Nashville, TN, serial # 81679538, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 41 3/8 in. (105.1 cm.), 15 15/16 in. (40.5 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 3/4 in. (4.4 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This now 35 year old guitar has been played just a bit but remains all original and well-cared for, showing only a little wear overall. The lovely ambered natural finish shows only minor dings, scuffs, dents and scrapes, with a couple of tiny dinks on the back of the neck. The pickguard has some light scuffing. The nickel plating has some light corrosion, most noticeable on the bridge and pickup covers. The very upper tip of the truss rod cover is chipped off and the G string tuner shaft is a bit bent but both are still fully functional. The original frets show hardly any wear.

This ES-335 DOT model is one of Gibson's best 1980s instruments, a really nice re-issue of the original 1958-9 ES-335 with a few more modern touches (most notable the Grover Rotomatic tuners many of the originals had added in the 70s). This blonde one has the classic look of the most desired original variant and carries a cool Dave Edmunds vibe, if you're old enough to remember! It has a great feeling chunky neck and plays and sounds beautifully for just about any style. The original case is fairly clean overall and intact except the locking latch is broken, probably on purpose as they have an annoying habit of locking themselves. Overall Excellent Condition.
