Mosrite Ventures Model Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in California, serial # 1116, Psychedelic re- finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown alligator hard shell case.

Flower Power! It just doesn't get any more 1960s than this! With its authentic period psychedelic paint job an already very hip 1960's Mosrite Ventures Model ascends to a new plane, forever redolent of the brief but lasting 1967-69 flowering of Hippie artwork on guitars. The guitar itself dates to mid-1965 so was probably refinished and painted a couple of years later, and now is a living relic of the times! We don't know where it was "back in the day" but we'll bet this blissed out California hot rod has some great stories played into it.

Overall length is 40 3/4 in. (103.5 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/16 in. (2.7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 1/2 in. (622 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This is a very well worn instrument, completely refinished but retaining the original hardware including the much sought-after "Vibramute" tailpiece. The neck was completely stripped and sanded, with only the headstock face retaining any original finish. There is also a small repaired crack on the side of the fingerboard. The back of the body was amateurishly refinished in black, while the top received a better treatment with a ivory undercoat, amazing Garden-and-Sun floral artwork and a clear lacquer protective coat over that. The neck was refretted with larger wire, as is common with played-in Mosrites. This amazing 1960s artifact still resides in the original alligator-grain HSC, a wonder to behold and a real "trip" back to the heyday in the later '60s, when anything seemed possible. Overall Very Good Condition.
