Gibson ES-390 PRD Model Thinline Hollow Body Electric Guitar (2013), made in Memphis, Tennessee, serial # 11293705, cherry lacquer finish, laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown tolex hard shell case.

This interesting Gibson is one of the more original creations of the company's late lamented Memphis factory. The ES-390 is the same size as an ES-339, a smaller-bodied cousin of the ES-335. Unlike that model, but like the ES-330 the double-cutaway body is fully hollow without a center block. The 390 originally came with a pair of mini-humbuckers, as used on 1960s Epiphones and later Les Paul Deluxes; later versions were offered with P-90s as well.

The ES-390 is built with a laminated maple body and the classic one-piece traditional C shape mahogany neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard and pearloid block inlays. Its body. The instrument is a very sensible design, extremely light and well-balanced. The combination of the small hollow body, full scale neck and these bright but mildly aggressive pickups makes for a playing and sonic experience unlike any other Gibson, a real hollowbody sound in a very compact guitar. We can only lament the excellent and creative Gibson Memphis shop is a thing of the past, this is really a fine vintage-style design that should have existed in the 1960s.

Overall length is 39 1/2 in. (100.3 cm.), 14 1/16 in. (35.7 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).

This guitar shows only light handling wear, appearing not too much played since new. The finish has some light scuffing and handling wear, but that's about it. It plays and sounds excellent and resides in the original Gibson brown HSC with the Gibson Memphis shop's COA in the pocket. Excellent + Condition.
