Tone King Imperial MK II Model Tube Amplifier, made in Baltimore, MD, serial # 8072312010, two-tone Tolex finish.

This Tone King Imperial MK II has a fairly modern appearance in our showroom, but sonically it fits right in! This model was originally designed by Mark Bartel, founder of Tone King. Though the company's ownership has changed over the years, the amps are still hand-assembled domestically in Huntington Park, California. This Imperial MK II is one of the earlier mid-power models of the line-up designed around Fender tweed and black-panel tones, featuring a cathode-biased push-pull 6V6 power section yielding approx. 20 watts into a single 12" Eminence speaker.

The control panel features two channels: lead and rhythm; the former voiced for tweed tones and the latter for more mid-60s black-panel tones. The lead channel offers volume, tone and 'mid-bite' controls, the rhythm channel volume, treble and bass, alongside global reverb and tremolo speed and depth controls. The amp also features an onboard 'Ironman II' attenuator with controls for high frequency compensation, attenuation and a bypass for the rhythm channel only, neatly allowing for attenuated power tube breakup on the lead channel and higher headroom cleans on the rhythm channel at controlled volume settings.

Height is 19 1/16 in. (48.4 cm.), 22 5/8 in. (57.5 cm.) width, and 10 1/2 in. (26.7 cm.) in depth at deepest point.

Cosmetically, the amp is close to near mint condition with only very light signs of use. The two-tone Tolex is free of any notable blemishes, save for a few very minor spots. The grille cloth is beautifully clean, as is the control panel. Electrically, the amp is original and unmodified from its original design and has been given a clean bill of health after our standard tech inspection.

This is a "modern" amp for us, but the tone and look are "vintage" enough we still think it's cookin' with gas! Excellent + Condition.
