Iris OG Model Flat Top Acoustic Guitar (2023), made in Burlington, Vermont, serial # 640, tuxedo finish, mahogany back, sides and neck, Sitka spruce top, rosewood fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.
The Iris OG model is a huge sounding smaller body 12-fret guitar, "The one that put us on the map" according to the company! "The OG model appeals to a wide range of players and is the perfect stage guitar for any performer due to its comfortable size and profound resonance" they continue. With its rounded bouts and center-top bridge the OG is a very sensible and ergonomic design and looks particularly striking in this early-30s Gibson inspired "Tuxedo" black open-pore Nitrocellulose finish with white trim.
The mahogany back and sides are topped by a Sitka spruce soundboard with scalloped Adirondack spruce bracing. The guitar is built with a modern bolt-on mortise & tenon neck joint, 25" scale with a 1 11/16" nut, 16" Fingerboard Radius and 2 7/32" Bridge Spacing. The Indian rosewood fingerboard and 1930s Gibson-style bridge feature a bone nut and saddle, the Iris-logo headstock is fitted with vintage style brass openback tuners with cream buttons. Pound-for-sound these Iris models are about the best bargains in a US-made solid wood guitar anywhere, and this one is no exception!
Overall length is 38 5/8 in. (98.1 cm.), 14 1/4 in. (36.2 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 4 5/8 in. (11.7 cm.) in depth at side, taken at the end block. Scale length is 25 in. (635 mm.). Width of nut is 1 11/16 in. (43 mm.).
This guitar looks hardly played, showing just a few light handling marks. It plays and sounds very well and comes in the original HSC with the warranty envelope. Excellent + Condition.
