Fender Mustang Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1972), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 348425, sunburst polyester finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard.

This version of Fender's most popular budget guitar debuted in 1972, with a standard sunburst poly finish replacing the metallic-paint-with-racing-stripe "competition" livery that had reigned since 1969. The guitar otherwise remains physically the same, with the back body contour added in 1969 and all the standard Mustang features: 24" scale neck. Dual pickups with phase switching, the "Dynamic" vibrato and cool "60's style pearloid pickguard. The neck date is Feb. 1972; this is an early '70's guitar still sporting a '60's cool factor!

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 12 1/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). All original with moderate typical playwear-dents, dings etc; some finish loss to the edges and buckle wear to the back. Average fretwaer, some strumwear to the fingerboard at the body end. No repairs or alterations; the whammy bar is missing but all else complete. Very good player, a nice gigging early '70's Mustang. Excellent - Condition.
