Fender Mustang Model Solid Body Electric Guitar (1965), made in Fullerton, California, serial # L67795, blue lacquer finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original grey hard shell case.

This is a very attractive and overall nicely preserved 1965 Mustang, made about a year after the model's debut in the second half of 1964. The Mustang was Fender's classiest student guitar, basically a Duo-Sonic with vibrato and has proved eternal favorite of countless garage bands of the 60's, '70's and 80's. The body on this example sports a nicely faded blue lacquer finish and the pickguard is laminated plastic with a white pearloid top layer. The neck is dated October '65 and pots coded to the 42nd week of that year. An American classic and still a great deal in an original 1960's Fender guitar!

Overall length is 39 3/4 in. (101 cm.), 12 1/4 in. (31.1 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 1/2 in. (3.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 in. (610 mm.). Width of nut is 1 5/8 in. (41 mm.). Very nice overall, all original except the tuners were changed long ago to mini-Grover style copies and the trem arm is a repro. There are some small dings, stains and chips to the finish and some very small divots in the first position on the fingerboard, but the hardware is still shiny and the guitar does not have much playwear overall. An excellent player with just a bit of fret wear and a lovely just worn-in neck, one of the nicer -and prettier!-'60's Mustangs we have had. Includes original Fender hard case. Overall Excellent - Condition.
