Fender Jazz Bass Model Solid Body Electric Bass Guitar (1976), made in Fullerton, California, serial # 694649, natural polyester finish, ash body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, black gig bag case.

Overall length is 46 3/4 in. (118.7 cm.), 14 in. (35.6 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 34 in. (864 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/2 in. (38 mm.). This mid-'70's Jazz Bass has signs of play overall but no heavy wear and appears all original --including both chrome covers -- except for newer repro strap buttons. All wiring is original with pots dated to the 7th week of 1976. There is some noticeable wear to the finish, with crazing and some loss to the topcoat mostly on the edges and top half of the body where the player's arm makes contact. As this is a natural finish it actually is harder to notice, but can be felt and seen on close inspection.

The neck finish is excellent with just some light wear-there is one deep ding behind the 8th fret on the treble side. The frets show less wear than might be expected, crowned down slightly but with no deep divoting. The bass plays very well with the bright, aggressive sound typical of these '70s ash-bodied Fender Basses, always regarded as Funk machines popular among poppers'n'slappers. It is fairly heavy at 11.46 pounds, but far from the weightiest we have encountered. Excellent - Condition.
