Stradolin Model 421 Model Arch Top Mandolin (1940's), made in New York City, natural lacquer finish, laminated maple body, spruce top; poplar neck with rosewood fingerboard, original brown chipboard case.

Overall length is 25 1/2 in. (64.8 cm.), 10 in. (25.4 cm.) width, and 1 7/8 in. (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 13 3/4 in. (349 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/16 in. (30 mm.).

This "Strad" model is one of the more basic Strad-O-Lin mandolins, with a plain natural finish maple and spruce body and simple ornamentation. This one remains a nice clean and original mandolin overall, showing signs of average use. The finish has checking with small dings and scrapes with a few areas rubbed away from play. The tailpiece cover shows some corrosion and plating loss. It has been neatly refretted and the fingerboard trued for playability. While this is very simple design it is still a good-sounding f-hole student mandolin, complete in the original SSC. Excellent Condition.
