Fender Champ-Amp 5F1 Model Tube Amplifier (1964), made in Fullerton, California, serial # C-22315, black tolex covering finish.

Height is 12 in. (30.5 cm.), 13 1/2 in. (34.3 cm.) width, and 8 in. (20.3 cm.) deep.

This is an interesting transitional Fender Champ, still in the tweed 5F1 configuration but covered in the new black Tolex that Fender adopted in the 1960s. The Champ had been the last of the tweed survivors; Fender never threw anything away, and the factory used up its stocks of tweed covering on their lowest grade student amp until it was exhausted. This amp has a tube chart code of NH indicating assembly in August 1964, making this one of the very last of the old-line '50s-style Champs -- the new Blackface model was introduced in the fall.

This is a nicely original amp overall, with some typical maintenance work. The Speaker is a new Weber Classic Alnico, the cord is a grounded 3-prong, and there has been a light cap job. There is one spot of missing Tolex on the back upper rear corner, but other than that this is a nice, clean amp with only minor wear. And it sounds fantastic -- one of the last of the '50s tone monsters to escape from Fullerton as the '60s designs took over. Excellent Condition.
