The Fender "Champion 600" was the company's early student amp aimed at teaching studios, and their success helped keep Leo's dream afloat in the early days. These early '50s models are not as loud or overly crunchy as later Champs; they start out sweet and remain fairly civilized at low volumes, but still get the grit when cranked!

This primal Champ is in very good shape, though has some typical minor wear. The faceplate remains largely unscathed with most of the stenciled lettering well intact, with the exception of a couple minor scratches towards the edges. The covering is in very good shape save for a few minor scuffs on the corners. The handle is a high quality "raised style" replacement that apart from a slight cut/ding at the center top, is in great shape.

Electrically, the amp is nicely original except for the speaker, an older "Cletron" branded replacement that sounds fantastic. Both the output and power transformers are original. Power transformer is marked 6500. The amp has been given routine maintenance, including a 3-prong grounded power cord, replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, cleaning of all jacks, sockets and pots and power tube biased to spec.

A very clean and excellent sounding amp -- not bad for being 70 years old! Overall Excellent Condition.
