Fender Deluxe Reverb Model Tube Amplifier (1966), made in Fullerton, California, serial # A-15074, black tolex covering finish.

Height is 17 1/4 in. (43.8 cm.), 24 1/4 in. (61.6 cm.) width, and 9 1/4 in. (23.5 cm.) in depth at side.

This is a relatively clean early-CBS example of one of the all-time classic Fender amps, the blackface Deluxe Reverb. With enough gain to kick at low level, enough headroom to keep up with a drum kit and full reverb and tremolo facility, the Deluxe Reverb is one of the benchmark 1960s amps that others are compared to. Externally it shows some light typical wear to the Tolex and what looks like a few razor blade cuts along the top right side of the cabinet. Grillcloth and faceplate both look great with expected minor wear but nothing too serious.

This amp has a tube chart stamp inside the cabinet of "PH" which dates to August 1966. The serial number stamped into the chassis is A-15074.

Electrically, the amp is nicely original, except for the speaker, which is a period-correct Jensen P12Q dating to 1965 (220-536), which some might consider a vastly superior speaker to the relatively cheap Oxford that came stock in the amp. This Jensen was recently professionally reconed and sounds great. The power, output, choke and reverb transformers are all original, marked 606-621, 606-618, 606-617 and 606-614, respectively and visible pot codes also date later 1966. The reverb tank is original, as is the footswitch. One of the RCA connectors on the footswitch cable had to be replaced.

The amp has had routine maintenance performed, including the replacement of all electrolytic capacitors, a grounded 3-prong cord added, cleaning of all sockets, pots and jacks and power tubes biased to spec. All of the original blue Astron signal capacitors are still working well!

Overall this is a phenomenal-sounding early-CBS example of one of the all-time classic Fender amps, in ready-to-gig condition. Excellent - Condition.
