Bart Reiter Round Peak Model 5 String Banjo (2010), made in Lansing, Michigan, serial # 3350, mahogany stain finish, laminated maple rim, laminated mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, black tolex hard shell case.

Overall length is 37 3/4 in. (95.9 cm.), 12 in. (30.5 cm.) diameter head, and 2 5/8 in. (6.7 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 26 in. (660 mm.). Width of nut is 1 1/4 in. (32 mm.).

The Bart Reiter Round Peak is a large rim, medium scale banjo with a slightly mellower sound than many modern 5-strings, intended for the more traditional old-time player. This 10-year old example shows signs of use (looks like it's been to at least a few festivals!) but no notable damage or repair. The head is a bit dirty from play, with the remnants of a tape mark underneath from a removed pickup installation. There are some typical wear spots and corrosion to the nickel plating, mostly on the hoop, and some light finish wear. The frets also have some light wear but nothing that affects play. Really "she's just 'bout broken in" as the old timers would say. Bart builds his banjos to last and provide a lifetime of service, and this one's just getting started. This is a very good playing and sounding frailer from essentially the best modern builders of old-time banjos. Overall Excellent - Condition.
