DeArmond Guitar Mike Model FHC Model Archtop Guitar Magnetic Pickup, c. 1950's, made in Toledo, Ohio, chrome finish.
One of the classic and most popular DeArmond pickup models, the original "Guitar Mike" is generally similar to the "Rhythm Chief" but requires no alteration of the guitar to mount. The pickup coil slides along a bar which clamps to the strings behind the bridge and can be adjusted to any position under the strings. A volume control and integral cord also attach to this bracket and the entire assembly can be taken on or off in minutes.
Still a popular and excellent-sounding pickup, with a great sound and unmatched practicality. As used over the past 60 years by many jazz, blues, and early rock'n'roll players too numerous to mention!
Height is 3/8 in. (1 cm.), 3 1/4 in. (8.2 cm.) width.
Complete and original condition, including cord and plug. Some pickwear to casing but otherwise excellent…ready to install and swing! Excellent Condition.
