Kalamazoo KG-31 Arch Top Acoustic Guitar , c. 1936
Kalamazoo KG-31 Model Arch Top Acoustic Guitar, c. 1936, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, sunburst lacquer finish, mahogany back and sides, spruce top; mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. Item # 6903
Overall length is 41 in. (104.1 cm.), 16 1/4 in. (41.3 cm.) wide at lower bout, and 3 1/4 in. (8.3 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 24 3/4 in. (629 mm.). Width of nut is 1 3/4 in. (44 mm.). Overall a good playing example with some general finish wear overall, mostly dings and scrapes to the finish. The guitar is complete with all original hardware including the openback strip tuners, adjustable rosewood bridge, Gibson-style tailpiece and even the tortoise celluloid pickguard. Better sounding than many Kalamazoo archtops, this is a very solid guitar with an unusually huge-feeling neck for a Gibson from this period. Overall Very Good + Condition.
